We know families that are so shattered by wealth, abuse, or poverty that our imaginations do not run wild enough to muster hope for their futures. Just consider what it would be like to have King David as a father, or even worse, as a husband! Despite all this, we see the prophets of Israel, including Jesus, regularly indicting those who look good on the surface.
